Veterinarians Welfare Society became functional on 14th August 1988.The idea for the same sprouted in the minds of late Dr.G.Nirmalan and Dr K V Asokan,The all time great leaders of the veterinary association Kerala It is registered (Reg. No. 360/88) under Travancore-Cochin Charitable Societies Act.

Membership eligibility
Veterinarians working in Kerala, in Government/Quasi Government Organization or Private sector.
The membership shall ordinarily cease to exist on attaining 60 years of age and loan deposit with interest will be refunded
Admission
1. Administrative charge ₹5000/-
2. Loan deposit ₹ 5000/- (refundable with interest)
Total ₹10000/-
Benefits to members
a) Financial assistance in case of death or permanent disability ₹2,00,000/-
b) Treatment benefit as one time payment for critical illness ₹25, 000/- (6 persons a year based on seniority of application as per rules)
Merit awards
1. Award to children of members. One each for SSLC, ICSE, Higher Secondary, XII CBSE, ISC (5 awards)
2. Dr. G. Nirmalan Trust Award given annually to the best research articles published in peer reviewed journals.

Objectives
-
In the case of death of a member, provide immediate financial relief to the bereaved family.
-
To provide financial assistance to the members or his/her nominee in the case of permanent total disability of the member.
-
To provide financial support to the member for the treatment of diseases of brain, kidney, heart and cancer.

To give away scholarships/awards to the children of members
